As the year is coming to a close Allan and Jacob wanted to get a filming date in, although this hasn't been possible Allan has started the rewrites of episode six to make it easier to film. "It's still epic though", explain Al "We loved the original but this new one ups the bar enough for the introduction in series 2" and speaking of the exciting Series 2, Allan has begun writing the first episode, ready for filming in febuary 2012.
"Series 1 is tough to top, but I think we top it in episode one", explains Allan who is very excited to get started. "2/3rds of the first series are complete and now we are all just anticipating the first episode of the second series, which does mark the first episode with a returning villain!"
Due to the first series run being set into two parts, the end of 2011 and start of 2012, Rafferty and Kay are both trying to figure out when they will start the release of series 2, all they know is it won't be until late 2012- early 2013 time before they will have enough episodes ready.
Series 2 is set to have seven episodes instead of the six in series 1.
Stay tuned and watch this space...because on new years day, the release dates for the second half of the series will be announced!

Series 1 postponed and Series 2 CONFIRMED!
Allan Rafferty and Jacob Kay recently released an update on their Doctor who series:
In this update they explained that due to such technical difficulties as losing footage, broken SD card and lost camera charges, the series seems impossible to finish release this year. Instead, the final three episodes of series one (sting of the seer, gathering an army and the genius conflict) are set to be released January-Febuary 2012.
This said it has also been confirmed that a second series of Doctor who should be heading towards our monitors in 2013, in the video Allan said; "We're pushing boundaries, I don't think any other fan films could pull off a period drama in the way that we're going to", he has not confirmed what he means by this, only that the next six episodes will be brilliant and more professional with bigger twists and turns.

Technical difficulties grind down the team!
First they lost the camera charger, next the SD card broke losing 3 months worth of footage and continual lack of time with their cast means Allan Rafferty and Jacob Kay are hanging on for dear life to save episodes 5 and 6. The finale began its shoot in early August and still hasnt finished now in late October, the team originally planned to have the 4th episode of the series released 29th October, but due to the big amount of hastle they have had finishing the series, it's possible the second half of this series could well be mid November.
"Considering the amount of problems we've had I think we're doing well", comments Rafferty who has edited what footage they have together and is sure that this is going to be a finale to remember. "We have been trying to finish things too fast and now we're going back to basics"
Though the series has hit a bit of a delay the two promise the finale to be brilliant and worth the wait. The two are going to note what hasnt been filmed and take many filming dates doing shorts pieces at a time, working at the best pace they can.
"Fear not, this is merely a bump in the road", explains Kay. "Stay tuned on our channel for updates, because I assure you, you don't want to miss the final result"

Show hits mid series break...
After the release of the third episode in the series; Forever Dreaming, the show will be stopping for a mid series break. "We've had an epic first half", explains Allan Rafferty. "Which means we need to give fans a little more time to digest the first three episodes of the series and gives us enough time to get the finale filmed"
The finale of the first series started filming in August 2011, its dates are nearing the end and already the footage is looking "stunning". "We have a great team on board, our CGI expert Dan Sherratt has done a great job of making a beautiful 3D set meanwhile some stunning effects from the best man we know, Sam Woodhall", explains Jacob Kay. "This episode was written at the scale of a finale and we certainly plan to make it one that fans will remember"
The show is set to return later on this year, in recent weeks we can look forward to the confidential of the first half of the series, so don't forget to keep your eyes peeled!

Doctor who: Forever Dreaming preview
Episode Three: Forever Dreaming
Starring: Allan Rafferty, Lauren Anderson, Tim Rutherford, Josh Walsh
Written by: Jonathan Morris
Directed by: Jacob Kay
Quote, unquote:
The Guide: After all, we gave all the tomorrow's in the world
Jess: All the tomorrow's in the world?
The Guide: Once you've fallen down the kaleidoscope baby, there's no going back. For you. For me. For all of us.
In a nutshell...
Jess is being chased in her dreams, her life isn't making any sense and her boyfriend feels familiar, but with a growing unfamiliarity, was she really born in the 1960's? Why is her life so mixed up? And what is it that lurks within the shadows?
"The comic version managed to entine Allan and Jacob to create it, so what is it that makes this one so unique?"
"It's very Moffat", comments wrestling/film making you tube star, Luke Walters as he watches through episode 3 of Raffert and Kay's take one Doctor who. This is in some ways a mid series finale with a twist; no Doctor! Originally Allan and Jacob had prepared a big mid series finale that would have more questions and confusion for the main series finale, but die to lack of cast commitment the episode had to be scrapped.
Forever dreaming was always going to be an episode in the series and began with Allan's original starting point of being something like the Trueman Show.
I wanted the audience to be confused from the start of the episode", explained Allan. "And then go on to make them more confused until the very last scene! We certainly achieved this but soon found new inspiration." It was on the same month that planning for the Doctor who Series begun that Doctor who magazine published it's new comic "Forever Dreaming" by Jonathan Morris.
"We'd heard of comic adaptations before:, Allan went on. "Doctor who had done it before and our friend Jaime Carroll had also adapted his fair few and we thought it worked".
"Jonathan Morris has done a very good job on the comic and we wanted to use it to produce something he would be proud of", Jacob Kay takes over. "We decided that we'd take various themes and gave the bad guys our own name too".
Although this episode doesn't give the same amount of clues as it's original counterpart, it does establish a certain growing plot in the series and shows Jess choosing to join the Doctor might not just have been her love of history, make sure you don't miss it!

Doctor Who Playtime Preview...
So you've seen Set in Stone... but now check out the preview to Playtime...
Episode Two: Playtime

Starring Allan Rafferty, Lauren Anderson, Fern Selby-Purgaive
Written by Allan Rafferty and Jacob Kay
Directed by Jacob Kay
Quote, unquote:
The Doctor We're on the Nexonian core, legends say there's something wrong with the gravitational shift, pulls you down to the centre planet, quite like the mystery of the Bermuda triangle.
Lynda They say there is a monster here that takes you before you have time to repair your ship.
Jess Monster?
The Doctor Yes, and I like monsters...monster's are fun.
In a nutshell...
When something hacks the TARDIS and sends it leaping from reality to defend itself, the Doctor and Jess find themselves stranded on the Nexonian core. Somethings not right with the planet, the Doctor can sense that from the moment he steps foot on it. But with the TARDIS still in repair and a monster tracking them fast, can the two survive to win the Nexor's game?
"So Night Terror's had you hiding behind your pillow, but be prepared to take the leap behind your whole couch as you join the Doctor on the Nexonian core..."
Now we've seen Jess meet the Doctor, but what follows that is the all important first trip in the TARDIS, will she walk on another planet, meet aliens from a distant moon or find herself running very fast from some Monster? Well the answer to this comes in the form of the Nexor, an alien that lives at the Nexonian core which hunts down its prey.
Toys.
From the moment the Doctor and Jess first arrive there is a creepy feel to the place which is surrounded by toys.
"These may or may not be a hint towards what's behind all of this", claims Rafferty. "we thought that anyones childhood nightmare is to be stalked by living toys..." He trails off mysteriously, playtime is already set to be the spookiest and by far most scary episode of this series of who. "We wanted to start off by throwing the Doctor into a situation when he can't escape", explains Jacob. "Taking the TARDIS off him within the first few minutes and letting the audience and the Doctor alike feel hopeless".
Trapped in the monster's game, this episode was inspired by some of the horrible greats such as The Omen and Saw and of course there is still a hint of Doctor who.
"Usually I wouldn't be caught dead near a horror", explains Rafferty. "But this just increased the appeal really"
In the first episode the Doctor was funny, eccentric and had everything under control, in this episode the Doctor finds himself officially meeting his match, waiting with no plan of action except to play the game fairly. "This episode shows a very dark side of my Doctor", explains Allan. "You get to see how willing he is to take risks to save the day".
More clues of the series finale are plastered into this episode so be sure to watch out...or the Nexor might get you!

Also in the weekend on the same day of Doctor who's release Allan and Jacob made their way to Whooverville 3 where their first ever marketing experience begun. Doctor who Set in Stone Preview
With our Doctor who series well on the way and the news that only the two part finale needs making it is time for us to give you a small preview of the first episode.
Episode one: Set in Stone
Episode one: Set in Stone
Starring: Allan Rafferty, Lauren Anderson, Abbie Steel
Written by: Allan Rafferty and Jacob Kay
Directed by: Jacob Kay
Quote, Unquote:
The Doctor: Now then, where are we off to?
Jess: 19 Cross Close
The Doctor: Year?
Jess: 2011
The Doctor: Nice one! Not enough cabbage.
In a nutshell...
Jessica Springs is amazed when some kind of asteroid smashes into her garden, upon investigation she finds herself transported back in time to an 18th century farm where the only way back is with a strange man who wears a bow tie and calls himself the Doctor...
"New series, new new Doctor, new new companion. The first episode of this fan series isn't one to miss with all kinds of Sci-fi action"
The premiere of Allan Rafferty and Jacob Kay's long awaited series takes the fans on an incredible time travelling adventure in the first five minutes alone! "It's a bold new way to open a who series", claims Rafferty, head of the new series. "We wanted something special", comments partner in crime, Jacob Kay. "we wanted to give the fans of the show an insight to the series and pretty much set the story arc from the word go".
The bones of this story are the same as any other basic Doctor who opener; the Doctor meets his companion and they decide to travel through time and space together, but this story just screams ambitious from the moment Jessica Springs finds a peculiar stone in her back garden.
"It's interest really, how much stress a companion must go through before becoming the companion", states Allan. " In some ways they have to pass a criteria test for the audience and coping with an unusual amount of stress is defiantly something the Doctor's assistant must do".
"She's just amazed at this brand new world there is to explore", explains Lauren Anderson, the characters portrayer. "She loves History, it's her favourite topic at school and now the fact she has arrived in her favourite time zone scares her, but interests her further".
And this episode isn't only introducing the companion, the Doctor too is a new character himself. "He really is", laughs Rafferty. "Yes, he's a take on the Doctor I really wanted to do", he smiles and expands his point; " He's funny and loveable and serious all wrapped into one, the most eccentric Doctor since Tom Baker". The Doctor finds himself being taken captive by two scientists who conduct an experiment that is designed to create a living regeneration. "I've worked on this story once before in an old attempt at my series called 'Death of a Doctor'. The Doctor us already stressed in post regenerative form, but we didn't want to concentrate much on that, it's onwards and upwards for him".
In Set in Stone be sure to keep your eyes peeled as there are clues that head towards the story arc...

Assassination point cancelled but 2 part finale will take its place...
Due to unfaithful actors, the original 3rd episode of the series "Assassination point" has had to be cancelled, however this has not stumped production as the double sized episode 6 has now been chopped down into single episodes each, making it an exciting 2 parter!!
The new episode is called "Gathering an Army", which replaces the cancelled mid series finale. "I think it still works in the series", explains Allan. "The episode should always have been a two parter, we just had no room, though the two week break in between will create the tension the episode lacked and also bring forward forever dreaming as episode 3 establishes a plot line that will help the second half of the series flow"
This new change also means that the series is 80% completed as of 23rd August.
The next trailer is set for release Sunday 14th August, keep your eyes peeled for more updates on the series progress...

Facts and Figures
With the hype beginning on Sunday, I thought I'd give some brief facts and figures on this page- Al
Episode 1- Set in Stone
Episode 1- Set in Stone
- This first episode was filmed back in April 2011, originally Allan planned for it to be a stand alone one off that he could work on with Jacob and submit to get into college, Allan has confirmed his place in Joseph Wright college, though from plots that are introduced in this episode Jacob and Allan managed to work up a story arch that spans through the series.
- This is now the 4th Project Allan Rafferty and Jacob Kay ever worked on together.
- In this episode introduces a plot line of the time stone which was origianally created by Allan Rafferty in the year 2006 in a short story he wrote, this story was about 3 kids who found a stone in their back garden which transported them back and forward in time, the time stone plot was later developed into an episode of the virtual series of The Sarah Jane Adventures planned by Rafferty in 2008 despite it never taking off, finally the time stone story is going to hit the screens...
Episode 2- Playtime
- This second episode was filmed in May 2011, everything was prepared and ready until one actress pulled out two days before the filming dates and so Allan and Jacob both had to think on their feet to get an extra cast member in.
- This episode acts as the scary episode for series 1.
- Daniel Sherratt, guest director of Time Agent series 3 did the CGI visuals for this episode
Episode 3- Assassination point
- Yet to begin filming on the 7th August 2011, this episode proves to be the second most complicated to organise in the entire series, acting as a mid series finale with plenty of action.
- This episode is the first to feature actors from Star Now.
- This episode is set in the future and is made in the form of an action film.
These are all that can be revealed, stay tuned as the hype begins on Sunday 7th August 2011...

Episode 5 in production!
Episode 5 had a late start to its filming however it was worth the wait as all the extra's gathered in the party room for the opening scenes of the 5th episode in the series. "Looking at it", comments Allan. "This is a good one, a nice contrast to episode 2 which was much more scary and serious". The series release dates have been confirmed however the production crew hesitate to release date further to stop any stress when filming.

Production begins on episode 5...
With all 4 filming days confirmed production on episode 5 begins Tuesday 14th June and it seems that this is destined to be the most hectic shoot yet. "This time we've not just got me, Lauren and Jake to worry about", comments Allan on the dawn of the film-shoot. "We have a whole hurdle of extras to deal with also and not only that I have to perform my most ridicules yet", he blushes. "I must say I'm rather nervous of what is to come".
Filming on episode 5 is not the only thing that has begun, work on episode 3's script is almost complete and the cast number for the episode has raised its stakes preparing for a beautiful mid series finale...

Episode 3 cast confirmed!
Allan Rafferty's Doctor Who fan series just never stops work! With two episodes in the can now, episode 5 completed in script form and episode 3 planned and cast like never before, it looks as though this fan series will certainly be a one to watch. Confirmed in Episode 3 are Chris Kenna, host of the Sky chat show "The Chris Kenna show" will be making an appearance as "the assassin", also joining him will be Eric Cambell as "The Bounty Hunter" and Chris Williams will be taking the part of "the president".
"This is why we love Doctor who", comments the show runner Allan Rafferty. " It can take you anywhere in the universe and while one day you can be working on a horror film, as in episode 2, the next you will be working on a gangster film as in episode 3". Jacob Kay continues for him; " I think the fact that we have such a versatile and varied series planned makes it even more appealing".
Filming for episode 5 will begin in late June, after Allan's exam and then Episode 3 will take place in the summer holidays as the last two scripts begin work.
Keep your eyes open for future confirmations of cast and hints of episodes, the series is getting ever nearer!

Scary music...
So yesterday I completed the edit suite on episode 2 and I must say its looking rather good, does life ever slow down when it comes to my who fan series? No. No sooner have a spent the night trolling through you tube finding scary themes and sound effects and added the colour grading do I have a five minute rest... And that's all it is, the Doctor who episode 5 file is screaming to be opened and finished! Part of me wants to just start it and type until all of episode 5 and episode 3 are finished, but of course I don't work like that, art takes time and if rushed then that is how the story will feel.
And then there is my exam, oh dear my exam. I mean its a bit of a bummer that we won't be filming episode 5 until I've finished that exam but ah well, this just gives me time to overtake the production schedule and get all of the first 5 episodes scripted, 2 obviously already are as both have been complete in the production and the best part is I never have to think of another play area as long as I live, the amount of people who interrupted us during the day is absolutely impossible! I could not believe my eyes, the second the camera was rolling kids just ran in and overpopulated the place making our lives harder and the editing of the first draft quite unbearable!
In other news our new CGI expert, Daniel Sharrett has done an amazing job on the second episode and as episode 5 needs CGI quite a lot he has definitely injected hope into all of us working on the project, now then episode 5, what is it like? Light hearted and easy on the soul which is a nice contrast to episode 2 the most horrific piece of drama I've ever produced. Episode 5 guest starring the wonderful Mandy Simpson, she taught me nearly everything I know that woman and now we're working with her! And not to forget some familiar faces too, I won't say any more as this is in the second half of the series and you haven't even seen the first!
Well stay tuned folks, because we're not going any where, by 2012 we will have 7 episodes broadcast, a 6 episode series and a Christmas special, thats right Christmas...
well on that note, look out for more updates!

Many upsets for a good episode...
Episode two finished filming today! I say this and think again as there are some shots that are still to be reshot due to bad members of the general public, I mean how dare they? Allowing their children to use a public play area disgraceful! And that is not all, this episode is such a beautiful on location episode that was just brilliant to film and even if my subscribers don't like the story (though I certainly hope they do) it is worth watching just for the pure beauty of the scenery.
Thankfully all stress ends today and the editing process should be a little more laid back this time, as most of the CGI shots are easy peasy and I can sit at home editing and scaring myself like I did last night. Oh yes, last night was dedicated to the pretitles and now that I think about it the fact that they were scarring me and I was the one that wrote it makes me happy as I know that other people are more than likely going to pick up on the pure creepiness, our cast members have been excellent, the crew yet again have baffled me at just how flexible they are.
Not much I can say on the day without leaking spoilers but I can promise that this episode is just the follow up that the first one needed and we are heading ever closer to the day when episode 1 is released...
Stay tuned folks!

Mind scrambled!
Right now, I, Allan Rafferty, have a lot on my mind. What should I think about? My upcoming English exam revision of course and yes before anyone frowns upon me I revise. But inside my head there is a battle going on! Doctor who is being broadcast on the TV, I have a hot cup of black tea accompanied by a copy of Doctor who: The Writers Tale- the final chapter which sits firmly and teasingly by its side. Writing for episode two is complete and so the crazy shoot is about to begin, the big stressful week where for 3-5 days all me and Jacob Kay ever think about are framing and locations and cast members...
And yes, right now we are in a crisis! Not one, but TWO cast members are missing, one on an unplanned holiday and the other just hasn't got back to us and so our days our spent trolling through my facebook page trying desperately to find a replacement, the male is not such a hard part to cast as we have arranged filming blocks to be easy and get his parts done in one day, but the female supporting cast member, we have to find her by SUNDAY! And we're running out of options, on the other hand we have the perfect villain and the script is as scary as we initially planned, so I'm told.
And meanwhile under all this revision and pre-prod for episode two, my fingers are frantically working to get the episode 5 script done before it's scheduled film dates in late June- early July! My mind is crazy. Maybe somewhere deep inside that crazy is trying to breakout and one day I'll be living in a mental hospital whispering things like "the Jellyfish! THEY DON'T LIKE WATER!" and "Would you like to see my spoon collection?" But for now my mind is working, working along side that of Jacob Kays (GOD HELP US, FORGET THE RAPTURE OR 2012, NOW IT REALLY IS THE END OF THE WORLD) We keep trying to decide whether the YMCA is truly relevant to the plot and of course it must be because when we stop and think this character is the creation of two mad men and in that case, in a world that is created by Allan Rafferty and Jacob Kay of course the YMCA is relevant, how could it not be?
And then there are the casting calls for episode 3, so many scary people have applied it's brilliant and just you all wait, when our series hits the monitors, it will be Doctor who history! Let's just hope it's good history. And now ideas for the finale, oh the finale, are swarming into my head, all those things on an epic scale, will the companion die? Will she survive that long? Will we ever get there? Time will only tell and so as you can all see my mind is well and truly scrambled, scrambled inside the world of who... Not much room to complain, it's gonna be a blast!
Stay tuned for more on the Doctor who fan series coming very soon!

Episode 5 brought forward in the filming schedule!
With episode 2 well into pre production now, Allan and Jacob have been considering the rest of the series and have confirmed a brilliant actor as part of the series, due to complicated reasons of her own the two have had to bring episode 5 forward in the filming schedule, the episode which was originally set to be filmed after the 4th has been brought forward to take place after episode 2 is complete. "It had to be done", explains Producer, writer and actor Allan Rafferty. "Mandy is too good an opportunity to pass off, plus episode 5 is quite an easy one to film too, the rest of the series shall be filmed in order and I guarentee once episode 3 is completed its filming stage, episode one shall be released"
Plans for the release date have been discussed and without confirming anything it seems the most realistic approach would be to aim for a date in September and release an episode per fortnight with a month break in between episode 3 and 4 so that the rest of the series can be planned. And so for now the writing of episode 2 goes on, filming dates planned for the May half term break and episode 5 will begin shortly after.

Episode one Completed!
Following wrapping all the filming up on episode 1 the post production is now complete, the release date remains to be unconfirmed but work on the second script begins shortly. "We want to release the episodes in every time the one that follows has been filmed", comments Jacob Kay. "We thought that by doing this we have time to breath and by the mid series break the audience will be well acquainted with the Doctor and his companion Jess".
Episode 2 has been confirmed to be called "Playtime" and is said to be the most scary in the series. "It's a brand new feat", says Allan. "We've done the sci-fi stuff but now we want to add a bit of horror and in the style of classical who make the audience watch from behind their spinny chairs", the episodes cast is confirmed to feature Allan's other halves little brother who is 6 years old, the locations will be mainly in a playground but other parts are also included- "- which we can't give away, spoilers", Allan grins.

Doctor who is in session...
It has been anticipated for almost 3 years now but after many trials and errors Allan Rafferty's fan series is in the production, with the 1st episode already entering post production and episode 2 being written it seems that finally the Doctor Allan portrays will be coming to our monitors. "It's been a long time in the making", says Rafferty, now 17 years of age, since he started at 14 he has learned a lot about film making and writing also, working on such projects as "Sherlock" and "Time Agent".
"I think now is finally the time to get a series out", he continues. "when I was young I made some awful episodes but it was all in the learning curb". Since starting in 2007 Allan has gone through a lot of changes in his ideas, will he be using any of the old episodes he created? "No, but the storyline for the first episode, set in stone was an adapted version of the original first episode". Another change in the series run is the fact that he now has a partner, Jacob Kay, who helps him form all the ideas in the series and directs most of it too. "It really is very handy having someone there to bounce ideas off, the great thing is that I'm not the only one who knows where the series is going and the enthusiasm we share for the show is equal, we plan to give the same thrilling adventure to all fans of Doctor who".
The First episodes release date is not far off however it is unconfirmed, only confirming that the series will be released in 2011 and before any release date can be given, episode two and three must be filmed.
